The Longest Forty Production Co. are delighted to announce an intimate Evening with British Footballing Superstar and Rangers Legend Mark Hateley.
After impressing in England with Coventry City then Portsmouth, Hateley was transferred to A.C. Milan for £1 million in June 1984.He scored a decisive and historic match-winning goal in a 2–1 win against Inter in the Milan Derby a few months later; the first time Milan had beaten Inter in the Derby in six years. 3 years later he was bought by Arsène Wenger’s Monaco, being part of the team that won the French Division 1 title in season 1987–88.
In July 1990, Hateley returned to the UK to become part of Graeme Souness’s Ibrox revolution. He became a key member of that Rangers side and was voted player of the year by the Scottish Football Writers in 1993–94. He scored 112 goals for the Gers in all competitions, including two that clinched the championship on the final day in 1991, and one in each of the narrow Scottish Cup final victories in 1992 and 1993 versus Airdrie and Aberdeen respectively.
Rangers were league champions in every season that Hateley played for them as they went on to achieve a historic 9-in-a-row.
A not-to-be-missed event for all Rangers fans in the area, Mark will discuss all the amazing tales from his incredible career before answering questions from the audience.

An Evening with Alan Thompson

An Evening with Alan Thompson

When: Saturday 29/10/2022

Time: 8:00pm - 10:30pm

Cost: £30
The Longest Forty Production Co. are delighted to announce an intimate Evening with Celtic cult-hero Alan Thompson.
The Geordie began his career at his local club Newcastle United before starring at both Bolton Wanderers and Aston Villa.
He signed for Martin O'Neill's Celtic for a reported 2.75 million in 2000 and was an integral part of the Celtic team that reached the 2003 UEFA Cup Final where Celtic narrowly lost 3–2 in extra time to Jose Mourinho’s Porto.
Thompson scored the only goal in the 2005 Scottish Cup Final for Celtic against Dundee United to give the outgoing Martin O'Neill his seventh trophy whilst in charge of the club. He also scored the winning goal against Rangers in two separate Old Firm derby matches and seven against Rangers in all. Having a knack of scoring in big games during his time at Celtic Park, Thompson scored several important goals in European competition including the opening goal in Celtic's 2–0 win over Liverpool at Anfield in March 2003 during Celtic's run to the UEFA Cup Final, and against Barcelona at Parkhead in a 1–0 win a year later as The Hoops reach the quarterfinals of the same tournament.

A not-to-be-missed event for all Celtic fans in the area, Alan will discuss all the amazing tales from his incredible career before answering questions from the audience.

Route -
Maps LR41 and EX392 Glen Nevis

Sgurr a’ Mhaim (1099m, Munro) – peak of the large rounded hill

An unconventional ascent of this prominent hill, which occupies a commanding position in Glen Nevis. *Option to explore the seldom-visited Coire a’ Mhail.

Start from the Upper Falls car park at the end of the public road in Glen Nevis at NN167691. Head E on the footpath though the Nevis Gorge and continue to the Wire Bridge. Cross the bridge and head WNW up through deciduous woodland to reach a spur above the tree line at NN1742468535.

Head SW up the spur, turning S up steeper and rockier ground to the summit of Creag nan Eun,
483mlr. Continue S up a steep rocky slope to the tip of a NE orientated spur at 740m alt,
NN1719367756. Head SW along the spur, almost level at first, curving S and rising steeply on rocky ground between Coire Sgorach to the W and Coire nan Cnamh to the E. The spur terminates on a
ring contour, 960m alt, NN1678567065, overlooking the vast expanse of the magnificent Coire a’ Mhail.

The summit of Sgurr a’ Mhaim lies 450m SW of here, a climb of 150m up a steep rocky
ridge. Descend W at first, soon curving N around the rim of Coire Sgorach. A rough path may be found, which facilitates a sustained, steep descent NW to Achriabhach.

Transport required. 6 mins from start.
*To return via Coire a’ Mhail: From the summit of Sgurr a’ Mhaim, return NE down the ridge to a shallow col, alt 956m, just SW of the aforementioned ring contour. Locate the stalkers’ path and follow it S, contouring along the headwall below the rim of the corrie.

After about 700m, the gradient of the slope below the path eases, facilitating a descent E to the floor of the corrie. Follow the main burn N downstream until it enters a gorge at the foot of the spur of Cnoc Reamhar.

Climb E up the spur and head E up to reach the crest of the NW ridge of An Gearanach at a level spur below the crags, NN184677. Locate the stalkers’ path and follow it down to Glen Nevis.

Cross the foot of the Steall Falls, regain the outward route at the Wire Bridge and follow it back to the start.

8km, 1000m ascent
*12km, 1160m ascent
